Beaches

Margate, a charming coastal town in England, is blessed with several beautiful beaches, each offering its own unique charm and character. Here are some notable ones:

Margate Main Sands: The main beach in Margate is a broad stretch of golden sand, bustling with activity during the summer months. It's perfect for families, with its shallow waters and a variety of amenities, including cafes and ice cream stands. The iconic Margate Pier extends into the sea, adding to the picturesque scenery. There is also a tidal pool and sea salt sauna there. All only 7 mins walk from the house.

Botany Bay: A short drive, cycle or bus ride from central Margate, Botany Bay is known for its stunning chalk stacks and cliffs. It's a quieter and more secluded option compared to Margate Main Sands, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing day by the sea.

Joss Bay: Located a bit to the north of Margate, Joss Bay is a popular destination for surfers. The bay is surrounded by high cliffs, creating a scenic and sheltered setting. There's a surf school on-site, making it a great place for both beginners and experienced surfers.

Walpole Bay: To the west of Margate, Walpole Bay is a quieter and more peaceful beach. It has a tidal pool that is revealed at low tide, creating a unique and family-friendly environment. The Walpole Bay Tidal Pool is a notable historic feature and a popular spot for a refreshing swim.

Westbrook Bay: Adjacent to Margate Main Sands, Westbrook Bay offers a more relaxed atmosphere. It's a sandy beach with beach huts and a promenade, providing a pleasant setting for a leisurely stroll or a quiet day by the sea.
